How Analyze My Teeth writes about dental scans
Who writes the dental pages
The pages about dental X-rays, panoramic films and CBCT scans are written by the JointLens team that runs Analyze My Teeth. We are not dentists, oral surgeons or dental radiologists, and no dental professional reviews the pages before they are published. Guides carry the site name as publisher because the team is the author.
How AI is used in writing and analysis
We use AI language models to help draft and translate dental pages. A team member edits each draft and checks its dental facts against the sources the page cites. Languages other than English are AI translations, and the English page is the reference when they differ. The analyzer works on its own: several general-purpose AI models describe the dental images you choose, and no person reviews those descriptions before you read them.
Dental sources we rely on
We use the 2017 classification of periodontal diseases from the American Academy of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology, position statements from the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology on CBCT use, and peer-reviewed reviews indexed in PubMed. Medical pages list their main references in a Sources section. Clinic advertising and whitening or aligner product pages are not treated as evidence.
Not a dental diagnosis
These pages explain what you may see on a dental scan, such as a dark area at a root tip or bone loss between teeth. They are not medical or dental advice and they do not diagnose anything. Whether a tooth needs a filling, a root canal or extraction is for a dentist who has examined you. Facial swelling with fever needs urgent care. Our Medical Disclaimer explains the limits.
Keeping dental pages accurate
Guides show the date they were last updated. We re-check a dental page when a classification or professional guideline it uses changes, or when a reader reports a problem. We do not follow a fixed review schedule.
Corrections welcome
If a dental page gets something wrong, send it through the feedback panel below with the page address and the statement you doubt. We check, fix confirmed errors and update the page date.
Dental scans stay in your browser
Dental X-rays and CBCT volumes are opened inside your browser and are not uploaded to our servers. An AI question sends only rendered images of the views you selected and your note, never the original scan files. See our Privacy Policy.
